Dietrich von Hildebrand lamented the changes after Vatican II, saying that "the Holy Bride had been desecrated." His widow Alice added that "he was referring to the 'abomination of desolation' of which the prophet Daniel speaks." (See "Present at the Demolition," Latin Mass Magazine, Summer 2001). Dr. Hildebrand opposed the changes in the Roman Rite as is evidenced by his statements, "Truly if one of the devils in C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape letters had been entrusted with the ruin of the liturgy, he could not have done it better" (The Devastated Vineyard). Then in Satan at Work, Hildebrand wrote, "With the new Children's Mass, issued by the evil spirit of the liturgical reform, Archbishop Bugnini, the victory of collectivism, naturalism, and horizontalism comes drastically to the fore" (p. 26).

In a sharp criticism of Fr. John Hardon's Catechism, Dr. Hildebrand further stated:

 

"We are obliged by no article of faith, by no principle of loyalty, to affirm that the new liturgy constitutes progress. If indeed we are to obey such administrative changes in the liturgy, as long as they do not conflict with our conscience, we are in no way obliged to approve of them.

“It behooves us to ask whether the decisive changes in the rite of Mass are not rather due to ecumenism than to any genuine development of doctrine. The outstanding German theologian George May ... pointed out that no one can overlook the Protestantization of the liturgy. History shows us that the implementation of ecumenical services and the New Mass (a creation of the freemason-Bugnini and six protestant minister "advisors") was imposed on Catholics over the past 35 years, while the old Latin Mass was unjustly suppressed. Why were "liturgical time bombs" used to demolish the old Mass?

What else can the liturgical demolition team (ICEL) top off their New Mass- entertainment-gamble with? Why of course they must bring the "fancy dancing" girls onboard what resembles a bizarre Hieronymus Bosch painting such as Garden of Earthly Delights or Ship of Fools, creating ”showboat” entertainment. The old Barque of Peter needed to be updated so they replaced it with a river boat replete with gambling and show-girls.

The ticket these Hegelian dialectic theologians, Bishops and liturgists gambled on was to retain enough of the old Religion (such as keeping some of the statuary and architecture as window dressings) while at the same time to put in enough of the new pluralistic, humanistic religion. With this, they hoped to please all cultures and political institutions, just as Herod did in his day. Then they could merge the two together into their clever humanistic plan of a gnostic One-World Church (to accompany their One-World government), all part of the New Order which Pope St. Pius X predicted in his Apostolic Letter Our Apostolic Mandatee in 1910:

 
“The limpid and impetuous stream has been harnessed in its course by the modern enemies of the Church and is now no more than a miserable affluent of the great movement of apostasy being organized in every country for the establishment of a One-World Church, which shall have neither dogmas nor hierarchy; neither discipline for the mind nor curb for the passions; and which, under the pretext of freedom and human dignity, would bring back to the world the reign of legalized cunning and force, and the oppression of the weak and of those who toil and suffer" (n. 40) ….

Liturgical dance and the progressivist agenda

Liturgical dance locks in tightly with an occult agenda. If one goes to a search agency on the Internet and types in liturgical dance along with any of the following - Satanism, Wicca, Sophia, and Rosicrucianism and Catholic youth, literally hundreds of pages come up. We see an explosion of this neo-pagan religious dancing. It is a big moneymaker with little regulation. Who is going to decide what costumes to wear during these "liturgical dance performances"? ….

Now the only thing these new and allegedly improved liturgical Herod’s needed was to bring in Salome and give up over half of their Kingdom for her profane dances at Mass. Here is where the liberals and feminists who push for liturgical dance come in.

You can see that liturgical dancer Sr. Ann McNeil is displayed on the USCCB website (http://www.usccb.org/consecratedlife/az.htm), along with cosmic painter Sr. Blance Gallagher, who paints with the "cosmic vision" of Teilhard de Chardin. Why do the Bishops conferences court the feminists? ….

But there are priests who also get involved. For example, Fr. J. Glen Murray S.J has been seen by this author accompanied by scantily clad liturgical dancers in black costumes dancing with their smoking bowls of incense during a children’s grade school Mass in the Cleveland Diocese. Lay people are also promoting liturgical dance as seen with Michael Mansfield, a "kinesthetic" dancer who is billed as a "GLBTQ & AIDS" activist [GLBTQ means Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans-gendered Queer] and works for Matthew Fox, the ex-Catholic priest, now Episcopalian New Age whacko and "creation spirituality" guru of the University of Creation Spirituality at Naropa University in Oakland, California Campus. ….

"Anything goes" in the sensual, "community celebrating," New Age church. Including contraception, abortion, transgendered-homosexual relationships, divorce with remarriage while receiving "communion" in the hand and "gay Masses." There is no need for people to feel guilty, so no need for the Sacrament of Penance. To fit this climate, the Conciliar Church must coordinate a new sensualized ritual, i.e., "liturgical dance," thus stressing a narcissism of "movement and feeling." Herod must have Salome in order for his continued "feel good/god" experience.

The above mentioned gnostic attempts had to have an intellectual justification so Kathryn Mihelick, a liturgical dancer and founder of the Leaven Dance Co., presented her paper titled, "On the Appropriateness of Sacred Dance for Liturgical Use" to an ad hoc committee of the USCCB in Summer 2003. This author read it. Ms. Mihelick’s bibliography includes Environment and Art in Catholic Worship, post Vatican II works, and only one book written before 1960. On the topic of dancing (not during Mass), she uses mostly post-conciliar research to support "liturgical dance," except for two misrepresented quotes of St. Ambrose and St. Gregory the Great – the father of Gregorian Chant – who has to be looking down in total shock at this pagan aberration on the topic of dancing in the sanctuary both during Mass and outside of Mass.

 

The conclusion of the committee was that they would not act to legalize liturgical dance until another more scholarly "exegetical, anthropological, theological" paper has been written. That is double-speak for "we like it, but the public may not be ready for it just yet. Let's keep dumbing them down and soon they'll buy it all - lock, stock, and barrel.

In that undaunted and most destructive mindset, undoubtedly they will present another pro-liturgical dance paper in the very near future, so this crisis is ongoing."



Liturgical Dance should not be called "liturgical dance" but religious dance as Notitiae II (1975) (http://www.ewtn.com/library/CURIA/CDWDANCE.HTM) stated, because it can not be done during the liturgy. This rule however, like most in today’s Conciliar Church is not enforced. Ms. Mihelick’s thesis is that it is not "fair" for the Church to use every other art form except dance at Mass. Ms. Mihelick is a dance professor at Kent State University and has been dancing illegally at Holy Family Parish in Stow, Ohio for over 15 years. This author has, sadly, witnessed it. However, all of her pastors have given her permission.

Anarchy in the Hierarchy is thriving, for the ploy of liberal priests and laity is - and has been since the Council - to carry out abuses and push Rome until she caves in. Then like a permissive parent, she relents and makes an illegal activity legal. In this case, finally, after 20 years of abuse, liturgical dance will be called a "cultural custom," which in accordance with Sacrosanctum Concilium (37, 60), and Gaudium et spes (53, 55 -59), must be made legal to fit with mankind’s ‘autonomy’ and the Church’s ‘inculturation policy.’ Liberals never want to upset the sensibilities of "cultural existentialists." Everyone should just do what they want.
